Your Life Is A Poem Penned By God

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

A melody moves me to dance, a sonnet draws my thoughts deeper . . . When music comes alive at the movement of the ballerina, and the sculptor reveals what was hidden in the wood . . . When rugged mountains mesmerize me by their grandeur, and the ocean’s voice reminds me how small I am . . . I see God.

The fact that we are each a masterpiece, a poem penned by God, sets us free from all of the world’s restrictive frames, and enables us to dance freely on the canvas God has for written for us.

It seems like many of us spend much time circling around mountains, sizing up the landscape, trying to figure out how this life of faith works, that we miss the childlike simplicity that we are called to — He has prepared good works beforehand that we should WALK in them.

The picture emerges of our Father and His daughter walking hand-in-hand, sometimes in silence, but often in conversation. He is directing her steps, giving her instructions, teaching her the way to go. He is carrying her when necessary, and giving her everything she needs to succeed.

No wonder Satan wants to call into question the goodness of our Father! No wonder he wants us to get our eyes on ourself and our performance! No wonder he wants us to feel like we are alone when Jesus has promised to never leave or forsake us!

Father, thank you for this amazing grace that rescued me and set me free to serve you without fear — because You are always near. Thank you for pouring Your Spirit in me and sealing me in You, that I am assured of my place in Your Kingdom. Thank you for the beauty of each poem You have written — over each of our lives — that we may SEE YOU, and love You more for Your wonderful works in and through one another’s lives— we know this full well. Help us celebrate one another as You mean for us to do. Your workmanship is beautiful!
