Where I Wandered This Week

My heart weighed heavy reflecting the grey clouds hovering thick, dropping rain day after day this week. Assailed by reports of wounded relationships and destructive decisions, my soul felt dreary too.

So I cried out for God to fill me with faith. Because I wasn’t feeling it.

Though I am thankful that my heart feels God’s burden for wholeness and healing in peoples’ lives, I was struggling to get the higher view. To look at the needs with faith that God could and would turn things around.

We walk by faith not by sight. I kept reminding myself. And I cried out to God for greater faith. He heard me and answered just as He promises. Matthew 7:7

Pro(found) Peace: Here is my Facebook post from the next morning:

Awakened to a chorus of birds this morning brought delight to my soul. After a day of heaviness-of-heart over spiritual battles friends are fighting…with the enemy having such access to the hearts of men as he seeks to destroy, Jesus takes me to the words of this anointed man of God from days gone by (Spurgeon) and sings over me with his song of joy! { . . . my soul solace herself with he singing of the birds of His promises} and this He sweetly reminds me: On my knees, trusting His faithfulness to His promises, thanking Him for His Loving-Redeeming Power—> the battle is fought and won.
Praising with the birds, seeing the armies of God, viewing from the bird’s-eye perspective. He has raised me up on eagles wings. Perhaps you need that reminder this May morning also. The Light has come into the world and has overcome the darkness. Sing praise with me! And may the Son shine brightly upon your soul today!

I’ve had little time for Facebook either, and when I took a few minutes to browse, I realized that my news feed was full of ads. It frustrated me enough to post about it. I’m happy to report there is an app to block ads from your browser. With a ‘click’ I eliminated ads from not only my Facebook news feed, but from the other sites I visit as well. It could be I am the only one who was in the dark about this, but just in case… Here is the link for Adblock.

Profound Place

NDOP: Thursday was the National Day of Prayer. I’ve been on the prayer team for a ministry that is dear to my heart: PULSE Movement. [If your heart stirs to reach the college-age generation with the Good News, consider giving?] I was invited to be there for the launching of their first NDOP event, UNITE in 2011.

UNITE is about bringing the Body of Christ together, uniting across denominational lines to seek God for revival in our land. The photo below is of PULSE founder and friend, Nick Hall in front of blocks with names of different denominations written across them. To One Lord, by One faith, in One Spirit we prayed for God to heal our land. To comfort the persecuted. To set people free.

Profound Play:

Hillsong United was at UNITE. I just can’t get enough of this song which is actually asking God for faith challenges. {Be strong in the Lord, fight the good fight of faith}
