The eight of us gathered tonight to practice. I’m one of the vocalists. Only because I love to sing-you know how they say, “All you have to do is make a joyful noise.”? Of course it isn’t a terrible voice or I’d likely not have been invited to join the team.
One or two Sundays a month if you visit East Lincoln Alliance Church, you will see me there with the others. The vocalists, the pianist, the drummer, the keyboardist (is that a word?) and the guitarists. We are ushers-sort of. Musicians usher those coming to worship into the presence of the Lord.
Wherever the songs of praise arise, He is there. Psalm 22:3 KJV The singers often lead the procession moving toward God.
Tonight we sang Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest…
I pictured the story of the triumphal entry, the one you hear about on Palm Sunday. And the people with their palm branches crying out, “Hosanna!” The day Jesus came riding on the foal of a donkey, a lowly animal. His earthly life always lowly. John 12:13-15
And then I imagined another scene. The Angels on high, up there in Heaven, and us with them one day, all praising, Holy, Holy, Holy . . . Revelation 4:8
That day when Jesus will be not lowly on a donkey, but a glorious King, reigning triumphant! And we who love Him . . . FREE! Absolutely 100% FREE forever!
No more fleshly, sinful nature to fight! No more fighting(.) PERIOD. Can you conceive of it? Eternity in perfect love. No guilt, no shame, no doubt, no fear, none of the things we fight here.
The fight will. Be. Over.
One Heavenly day and forever, we will no longer be battling the things that war against our soul! 1 Peter 2:11 Never. Again. Ever.
